Pioneer

Pioneer, also sold as Lukyanovskii, is a Ukrainian Cornelian cherry cultivar with pear-shaped red fruit. Planting Justice describes the ripe fruit as dark red, soft, sweet and juicy, and reports that this productive selection ripens slightly earlier than Elegant. Junker Nursery also distinguishes Pioneer by its red, pear-shaped fruit. Ripening comparisons and productivity are supplier observations rather than a yield guarantee across climates.
