Zutano
Persea americana
Zutano is a Mexican-race avocado introduced in 1941 from a Fallbrook, California selection, grown as much as a hardy, reliable pollenizer as for its fruit. The pear-shaped, thin-skinned green fruit is lower in oil and higher in water than richer varieties, so it is milder and more fibrous, but the tree cold hardiness and heavy, consistent cropping keep it popular. Its early flowering makes it a valued partner for type-A varieties.Read more
