Electric Blue

Electric Blue is an ornamental climbing annual sold by Renee's Garden as Lathyrus sativus azureus. Its small blue flowers are borne singly, sometimes with rose-colored throats, among grasslike foliage and curling tendrils. The supplier describes vines reaching 3-4 feet, suitable for large containers with a short trellis or for trailing over a low wall. Its planting instructions favor early spring sowing, or fall sowing where soil does not freeze; flowering is best before hot weather. This is a flower-garden selection.
