Malai #1 is an Israeli-selected atemoya (Annona x atemoya), one of the recent Israeli introductions along with Geffner, Malamud, Bernitski and Kabri, trialed at the University of Florida's Agricultural Research and Education Center, Homestead, and the USDA's Subtropical Horticulture Research Unit, Miami.
