Nikitas Gift is a cold-hardy hybrid of Oriental and American persimmon (Diospyros kaki x virginiana) bred in Yalta, combining kaki flavor and color with American-persimmon hardiness and late ripening. The reddish-orange, roughly two to three inch flattened fruit is borne in large clusters and turns exceptionally sweet when fully soft-ripe, remaining astringent until then.
