Maxine, also sold as Starking Delicious, is a fire-blight-resistant heirloom dessert pear discovered in Ohio in 1930. The golden-green, lightly russeted fruit has buttery, juicy, flavorful flesh. The trees are extremely vigorous and cold-hardy, a reliable low-care backyard pear.
