About Tattoo Orange
Tattoo Orange is a Catharanthus roseus cultivar from PanAmerican Seed, designated PAS1517061. Its medium-orange flowers have a consistently dark centre; the petals become paler in stronger light and higher temperatures. The breeder reports size and production timing similar to Tattoo Black Cherry. Well-branched plants form upright mounds 10-14 inches (25-36 cm) tall and 6-8 inches (15-20 cm) wide, flowering from late spring through summer. A sunny position is recommended, with good performance reported in heat. Warm conditions with moderate light give the clearest flower-colour contrast, while cooler, dimmer conditions produce darker flowers with more purple. Commercial scheduling allows five weeks for plugs and another five to six weeks from transplant to finish, not harvest maturity.
