About Red Candy

Red Candy is a compact, upright-bushy lingonberry selected by Johannes A. M. Koot in the Netherlands in 2006 from a cross involving Aalshorst. In a 2015 Canadian container trial, it flowered longer and bore larger, darker purple-red fruit than Red Pearl; average fruit diameter was 1.0 cm versus 0.7 cm for Red Pearl. Its white, urn-shaped flowers appear early and late in the season. Trial measurements describe those conditions rather than guaranteed garden performance.
