Kordia
Prunus avium
Kordia is a high-quality dark sweet cherry of Czech origin, formerly known as Attika, prized in Europe as a premium commercial and dessert variety. The fruits are large and distinctively elongated heart-shaped, ripening to a deep glossy dark red to black, with firm, crisp dark flesh of excellent rich, sweet flavor. Kordia ripens mid to late season and shows good resistance to fruit cracking, an important trait in wetter growing regions. It is self-unfruitful and needs a compatible pollinizer such as Regina. The tree can be slow to come into bearing but produces high-value fruit once established. Kordia is widely grown in European orchards and valued by connoisseurs for its outstanding flavor and firm texture.Read more
