Kapoho Solo is a yellow-fleshed Solo-type papaya that was long the mainstay of Hawaii's Puna district export industry. It produces small, pear-shaped fruit of about one pound with firm, sweet yellow-orange flesh and excellent flavor. Kapoho became famous as the standard Hawaiian export papaya, prized for consistent quality and good shipping ability. Like other Solo papayas it includes self-fruitful hermaphrodite plants suited to single-tree production. The fruit is enjoyed fresh and is known for reliable sweetness.
