About Rico

Rico is a named edible roselle cultivar dating to 1912. Julia Morton’s account records it among the cultivars described by P. J. Wester in the Philippines in 1920. It has a relatively low, spreading habit, and its calyces and foliage produce rich-red juice and preserves.
