Hasya

Hasya

Hasya is the leading commercial sapodilla of Mexico and the cultivar UF/IFAS rates simply as excellent, the only one in its Florida cultivar table to earn that grade outright. Fruit is large for the species at 5 to 13 ounces and distinctly oval to conical, which is why Florida growers routinely call it football-shaped. The pulp carries a brownish-red cast that sets it apart visually from the tan-fleshed Florida selections. It is a large, upright, prolific tree that crops from November into June, filling the cool-season window when the older Florida summer cultivars are out of production. Where space allows a full-size tree, it is the standard choice for top eating quality.Read more
