Giant Fuyu, also sold as Gosho or O'Gosho, is a large-fruited non-astringent Japanese persimmon in the Fuyu family. It produces big, flattened, rounded orange fruit that is sweet and edible while still firm and crisp, with no astringency. The main appeal is fruit size, which is noticeably larger than standard Fuyu, along with the same convenient crisp-eating quality. The flesh is sweet and good fresh, sliced, or dried. Trees bear well and provide handsome orange-red autumn foliage. Like other non-astringent types, the fruit is harvested and enjoyed firm.
