Elberta

Prunus persica 'Elberta'

A famous heirloom yellow freestone peach originated by Samuel H. Rumph near Marshallville, Georgia, in the 1870s as a seedling of Chinese Cling and named for his wife Elberta. Once the dominant peach of the U.S. industry before mid-20th-century 'haven' cultivars, it is still grown by home orchardists.
