Concorde is a modern English pear introduced in 1977, a cross between Conference and Comice that combines the reliability of one parent with the fine flavor of the other. The fruits have an elongated shape with a long neck like Conference and greenish-yellow skin with light russeting. The flesh is dense, sweet, and vanilla-scented, staying firm enough to resist browning when cut, which makes Concorde good both for fresh eating and for cooking, where it holds its shape. It is partially self-fertile and crops young and heavily, and it stores well.
