About Laurina

Laurina, also known as Bourbon pointu, is a dwarf Arabica coffee that arose from Bourbon on Reunion Island. A CIRAD study attributed its smaller stature mainly to shorter internodes rather than fewer internodes. Microscopic comparison with Bourbon found smaller and fewer cells in Laurina stems, with very little cell elongation in the two newest internodes. These findings distinguish its inherited compact growth from size controlled by pruning.
