Chenox

Chenox is a Zill nursery selection listed in the UF/IFAS mamey sapote cultivar table and held in the USDA/ARS National Germplasm Repository collection in Miami. It is a medium tree with medium yields of pink-fleshed fruit rated good for flavour, ripening in May and June, a useful bridge between the early spring cultivars such as Magana and Pace and the July-August main crop. UF/IFAS has not rated its cold tolerance or precocity and does not recommend it for the home landscape, so it is mainly of interest to collectors filling out the harvest calendar and to growers assembling a planting that fruits most of the year.Read more
