Cepeda Especial, sold by some nurseries as 'Zepeda', is a Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden selection propagated through Zill's nursery and chosen alongside Lorito for productivity and red flesh colour. It ripens April to June, between the early Magana window and the main summer crop, on small fruit of around 370 g. UF/IFAS rates the flavour good and lists tree habit, yield, cold tolerance and precocity as still unknown, so its home-landscape rating remains 'to be determined'. Grafted trees are available from Florida nurseries including Everglades Farm, which describes the fruit as smooth-textured with a custard-like sweetness, so this is a Fairchild selection a home grower can actually plant rather than a collection-only accession.Read more
