TCS 01

TCS 01 (Theobroma Corpoica La Suiza 01) is a self-compatible cacao clone with hybrid genetics offered by AGROSAVIA. Its breeder reports flowering at about 14 months and first production at 20 months after field establishment. Large pods change from red with green pigmentation when immature to orange and yellow at maturity; reported dimensions are about 32 by 13 cm, with an average of 38 seeds per pod. The breeder describes cocoa, citrus, yellow-fruit, walnut and dried-fruit notes. Its Colombian recommendation emphasizes efficient control of frosty pod disease caused by Moniliophthora roreri; these observations do not establish Florida performance.
