IISR Shakthi

IISR Shakthi is a black pepper selection released in 2004 from open-pollinated progeny of Perambramundi. Its breeder, the Indian Institute of Spices Research, places it in the medium-maturity group and describes tolerance to Phytophthora foot rot. The cultivar profile recommends rainfed cultivation in both plains and high ranges; the institute's regional table lists Kerala and Karnataka. These Indian recommendations do not establish performance in Florida.
