About IISR Girimunda

IISR Girimunda is a black pepper hybrid released in 2004 from Narayakodi crossed with Neelamundi. The Indian Institute of Spices Research places it in the medium-maturity group and recommends it for high-altitude growing areas. Its cultivar profile describes ovate-elliptic leaves and spikes about 9.65 cm long, with 90% fruit set recorded. These are breeder-reported characteristics from India; the high-altitude recommendation does not establish suitability for Florida.
