About Frisia
Frisia is an upright, deciduous black locust grown for its yellow-green compound foliage, which intensifies in summer and turns orange-yellow in autumn. It flowers sparsely. The RHS lists an eventual height above 12 m and spread of 4-8 m, with full sun, a sheltered position and well-drained soil. Remove unwanted suckers, which can carry long thorns. The plant is harmful if eaten and can irritate skin, including in pets. RHS investigations in the UK have documented serious decline and dieback in Frisia; the cause remains unresolved and may involve several interacting factors. This ornamental selection should not be presented as disease-resistant.
